
The Dog Creek Timber Trail Ultra course features a unique single-track trail that combines technical elements with more runnable sections, making it suitable for both novice and experienced runners. The course includes a variety of terrain challenges, such as footbridges and staircases, with a total of 52 steps encountered throughout. Participants can expect an elevation gain and loss of approximately 365 meters per lap.
The race utilizes a lap format based on a 16km figure-eight track. This configuration splits the course into a 10km northern loop run clockwise and a 6km southern loop run anticlockwise. The start and finish points are centrally located, allowing runners to access aid stations and the finish area halfway through each lap, enhancing spectator interaction and support.
The route passes through historic plantings of exotic forest species, offering a scenic backdrop that adds to the race’s appeal. This setting not only provides a visually engaging experience but also a touch of historical significance, reflecting the area’s past forestry activities.
