The IRONMĀORI Half offers participants a range of options to engage with the triathlon format, catering both to individuals and teams. Participants can choose to tackle all three disciplines – swimming, biking, and running – on their own, or specialize in just one. Additionally, the event supports relay teams where each member competes in one of the disciplines. It’s important to note that teams must consist of three members, with no two-person teams allowed.
The course itself provides a comprehensive challenge across its segments: a 2K swim that requires two laps in open water, a 90K bike ride through varied terrain, and a 21K run that is completed over six laps, offering ample opportunity for spectators to cheer on the participants. This setup not only tests physical stamina but also mental grit.
The event is part of the larger IRONMĀORI series, which is well-known for its inclusive atmosphere and celebration of both fitness and cultural heritage. The community involvement and support for the racers are palpable, making it a culturally rich experience as well as a competitive sporting event.
