Wellington Waterfront 5K

The Wellington Waterfront 5K Fun Run & Walk features a scenic course that encapsulates the coastal charm of the area. Participants start on the east side of the link span bridge/diving platform, taking in views of the city’s dynamic waterfront. The route extends past notable landmarks such as the Te Papa Museum, and continues around the marina, winding around Clyde Quay Wharf before stretching out to Oriental Bay. The turnaround point is just past Carlton Gore Road, after which runners trace their path back to the starting point.

The course is well-marshaled at key points including the Clyde Quay Wharf turn and the northern traffic turnaround, ensuring a safe and smooth experience for all participants. This event, organized by the Wellington Scottish Athletics Club, is part of the Wellington Waterfront 5K Series, offering a consistent running experience through the summer season. This evening event combines an athletic challenge with the opportunity to enjoy the lively waterfront atmosphere as the day winds down.
