The race
Set against the backdrop of Craig Roy Station in the scenic Nevis Valley, this event offers participants the chance to engage in the sport of rogaining, which combines long-distance navigation with teamwork. Teams of two to five navigate through diverse terrains that range from open farmland to steep, bush-clad hills, utilizing map and compass skills to locate as many checkpoints as possible within their selected time frame.
The event features options for varying levels of experience and endurance, with participants choosing between 3-hour, 6-hour, and 12-hour formats. The requirement for teams to remain together fosters a strong sense of camaraderie and collaboration.
Having organized events in the Otago Region since 2007, Highland Events emphasizes community involvement and the promotion of outdoor activities in a stunning natural setting. Participants can expect an atmosphere that celebrates adventure and exploration, drawing in both seasoned rogainers and newcomers alike.
