About this course
The event features a scenic course that begins at Takapuna Beach, leading participants along the picturesque North Shore coastline. Runners will experience the charm of Takapuna, Cheltenham, and Milford beaches, with the route providing views of the historic Maungauika/Historic North Head. This area is known for its stunning vistas over Auckland and the Hauraki Gulf, including sights of Rangitoto Island.
The Half Marathon and Marathon follow a 21.1km loop, while the Quarter Marathon covers a shorter distance, turning back at Cheltenham Beach. The 5km event features a turnaround at Belmont Intermediate School along Lake Road, making it accessible for a variety of participants.
The inclusion of a kids’ mile adds a family-friendly element to the event, fostering community engagement and participation across different age groups. The atmosphere typically reflects a vibrant local spirit, encouraging both competitive and recreational runners alike.
