The race
Set against the stunning backdrop of Queenstown, this event offers a unique opportunity to traverse the private Ben Lomond High Country Station, an area typically closed to the public.
Participants are transported to the starting point at Pipeline Bungy in Skippers Canyon, with the marathon concluding at Moke Lake. The 30 km and half marathon courses also begin and finish at Moke Lake, ensuring a scenic loop for runners. The 10 km route meanders along the shores of Moke Lake, following a path that includes a combination of farm roads and historic water races before returning alongside Moke Creek.
The atmosphere is enhanced by the natural beauty of the landscape, which features rugged terrain and diverse scenery, making it a distinctive event for both local and visiting runners. The involvement of the local community adds to the event’s cultural richness, fostering a sense of camaraderie among participants.
