About this course
The Taupō Marathon features a scenic two-lap marathon course that mirrors the picturesque single lap of the half marathon. Participants begin on Tongariro Street and finish at the Tongariro Domain, adjacent to the Great Lake Centre. The route includes the Great Lake Pathway, offering stunning views of the lake and the surrounding snow-capped mountains, enhancing the running experience.
Alongside the marathon, the event includes a half marathon, a 10km, and a 5km fun run, catering to a range of abilities and preferences. For younger participants, the Trail Tigers kids’ dash comprises a 1km loop through Riverside Park, returning to the finish line at the Tongariro Domain.
This event is notable for its community spirit and the involvement of local volunteers, contributing to a lively atmosphere that celebrates both running and the scenic beauty of the Taupō region.
