The Trail LoopHER is characterized by its unique format, where participants, either solo or in relay teams ranging from two to six members, challenge themselves to cover as many 4km laps as they can within their chosen timeframe of 3, 6, or 12 hours. The event promotes a supportive, women-only environment, enhancing the sense of community and camaraderie among participants.
Set in Riverhead Forest, the course provides an immersive experience in a commercial pine forest, primarily situated along the lower valley floor which features minimal elevation gain. This makes the trail accessible for a wide range of fitness levels, focusing more on endurance than technical difficulty.
Each team has the flexibility to strategize their run, choosing which members run and the number of laps they undertake, though only one team member is allowed on the course at any given time, adding a layer of strategy to the race.
The event is organized collaboratively by Lactic Turkey and GoRun Girls, known for creating inclusive and well-supported race experiences. This race not only challenges the participants physically but also fosters a strong sense of solidarity among women runners.
