Wairakei Estate Ironkidz in Taupō

The Wairakei Estate Ironkidz Triathlon offers a vibrant opportunity for youth participation in Taupō. Designed for children aged 7 to 15, the event promotes a spirit of achievement and enjoyment. It includes a Triathlon and a Splash & Dash for younger participants aged 5 to 7.

The triathlon course is set against the scenic backdrop of Lake Terrace. Participants will swim along the beach, with those in the Elite category navigating a more challenging route in deeper waters. Following the swim, competitors bike towards the Hole in One near the town center before finishing with a run toward 3-mile Bay. The triathlon format allows for individual participation or as part of a relay team with two or three members.

The Splash & Dash provides a more accessible option, featuring a short paddle in Lake Taupō followed by a brief run along the lakefront. This event encourages younger children to engage in physical activity without the need for advanced swimming ability, and parents are welcome to accompany their children throughout the experience.
