Moa Creek, Moa Creek
The race
This event features a navigation format where teams receive maps to locate various checkpoints, encouraging exploration of the surrounding undulating terrain. Participants can expect a diverse range of disciplines, which may include kayaking, rafting, trekking, abseiling, and mountain biking, allowing for a multifaceted racing experience.
The atmosphere is enhanced by the natural beauty of the Moa Creek area, with competitors engaging in a community-oriented challenge that promotes teamwork and endurance. Teams, consisting of either two or four members, navigate the course with the aid of a race guide, adding an element of support and strategy to the event.
The race schedule is designed to accommodate different preferences, with the shorter duration predominantly taking place during daylight hours, while the longer event includes segments of night racing. This variation adds to the challenge and excitement, as teams must adapt to changing conditions and navigate in darkness.
