The race
About this course
This running festival features a Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km, and a Kids’ fun run, set against the picturesque backdrop of Hawke’s Bay.
The Marathon course begins at Anderson Park in Greenmeadows, Napier, and offers a flat, mixed terrain experience. Approximately half of the route comprises smooth, hard-packed limestone trails, while the other half consists of sealed roads and paths. Runners will encounter notable local landmarks, including Pania of the Reef, The National Aquarium, and the Spirit of Napier, as they navigate along the scenic coastline. The route also winds through the Waitangi Estuary at Clive, providing ocean views toward Cape Kidnappers, culminating at the finish line located at Elephant Hill Estate & Winery.
The Half Marathon starts on Marine Parade in Napier and merges with the Marathon route at Waitangi Regional Park.
Participants can expect a lively atmosphere, with community involvement enhancing the experience. This event provides an opportunity to explore the region while engaging in a well-organized celebration of running.
