The race
The Blue Lake Multisport Festival is a vibrant two-day celebration of athleticism set against the scenic backdrop of Rotorua, coinciding with Auckland Anniversary weekend. This event embraces participants of all ages and skill levels, fostering an inclusive atmosphere that encourages community involvement.
The festival features a diverse array of events, including a Reverse Aquathon, which combines trail running with swimming, as well as open water swims in the pristine lake. For younger athletes, Kids Triathlons are available, allowing children to engage in age-appropriate swim, bike, and run formats.
A key highlight is the Taster Tri, designed for those seeking a shorter challenge, alongside the main Sprint Tri, which presents a more demanding course for seasoned competitors. The logistics of the festival are well-organized, with clear pathways and supportive volunteers, contributing to a smooth experience for all participants. The involvement of the Rotorua Association of Triathlon and Multisport Inc. ensures a well-structured event that reflects the local community’s commitment to promoting health and fitness.
