The Kāpiti Women’s Triathlon features a variety of triathlon and duathlon events alongside 5km and 10km run/walk options, fostering participation across different fitness levels.
The swim segments take place in the sea adjacent to the historical Raumati Pool, providing a scenic backdrop for participants. Bike routes meander along the waterfront, offering views of the coastline. The running courses are primarily off-road, utilizing the Wharemauku walking track and stream, which enhances the natural experience of the event.
This event has been a staple of the Kāpiti community since its inception in 1984, aiming to encourage women and girls to engage in fitness and health activities. The Kāpiti Women’s Triathlon is organized by women for women, with significant support from local volunteers, community groups, and businesses, reinforcing its community-focused ethos. The event not only promotes physical activity but also fosters a sense of camaraderie among participants.
