The race
About this course
The course traverses the picturesque Fairlie Basin, showcasing a mix of gravel roads, river trails, and private farmland. Participants will encounter a river crossing and a notable ascent up Spur Road, offering expansive views of the Mackenzie region.
The atmosphere is enhanced by the presence of bagpipe music, traditional tartan attire, and a small whisky offering at a vantage point near the hilltop.
In addition to the half marathon, the event features a 10km option, a 5.5km route with a new layout for 2027, and a 2.5km flat course designed for pushchairs, which includes a segment of the local golf course.
Community involvement is evident through the support of the Fairlie Lions Club, contributing to the event’s local character and spirit.
