About this course
The Martinborough Skyline Challenge features multiple distances for both running and mountain biking, as well as walking options tailored for various participants.
The event takes place on private farmland, which is accessible to the public only for this occasion, showcasing a unique opportunity to experience the stunning rural landscape. The course winds through historic sheep stations, including Huangarua and Puruatanga, now known as Martinborough Station, as well as Awatane Farm. This setting offers participants a chance to enjoy the scenic beauty of the region.
As a community-focused initiative, the event is organized by the Martinborough Lions, with proceeds directed toward supporting the Martinborough Volunteer Fire Brigade. This aspect fosters a sense of local involvement and camaraderie among participants and spectators alike.
The event accommodates a range of abilities, featuring a 10 km walk, a 3 km course for young children, and various distances for running and biking, allowing participants to choose according to their fitness level and preference.
