Mavora Explorer

This event takes participants through a picturesque and relatively untouched area of the Te Anau Basin, offering a unique opportunity to discover its hidden gems. The course features well-maintained tracks across private land, allowing for an immersive experience in the native bush, with sweeping views of golden tussocks, serene lakes, and flowing rivers.

Runners will encounter a variety of terrains, including challenging undulations, river crossings, and fords, balanced by sections of gentler paths that provide ample opportunity to appreciate the surrounding mountain ranges of Te Anau and Manapouri. The atmosphere is typically vibrant, with community involvement enhancing the experience, making it suitable for participants of varying skill levels.

In addition to the running events, the format includes a Run + MTB duathlon and standalone MTB options, catering to a diverse range of athletic interests. The event fosters a sense of camaraderie among participants, contributing to a lively and supportive environment.
