
The Ōmaha Half Marathon offers a full circumnavigation of the beautiful Omaha Peninsula. The course incorporates approximately 2km on the hard-packed white sands of Omaha Beach, enhancing the scenic allure with expansive sea views. Additionally, the route includes an out-and-back segment over the causeway to the coastal reserve at historic Point Wells, ensuring the water is consistently close by throughout the race.
The shorter distances, including the 5km and 10km events, share the initial route around the peninsula. The 5km course turns around near the local surf club, while the 10km extends to the bird sanctuary at the peninsula’s northern tip, offering additional natural scenery and wildlife observation opportunities.
The event is characterized by its coastal charm and the closeness of the community, with various distances accommodating runners and walkers of all ages and abilities, including a special 2km dash designed for children. The atmosphere is typically vibrant, with participants enjoying the natural beauty and historical significance of the area.
