About this course
The Raetihi Gutbuster offers a unique opportunity to engage with the stunning landscapes and historical context of the Raetihi-Pipiriki road, nestled between Tongariro and Whanganui National Parks.
Participants will find the start and finish at the Waimarino Museum, which serves as the focal point for the event. The half marathon course features an 11.5 km route down the Raetihi-Pipiriki Road, providing a scenic return journey. The 5 km route, designed for families, takes place on a convenient street circuit, ensuring accessibility for all ages.
In addition to running events, there are road cycling options available, accommodating those who prefer biking over running.
The atmosphere at the event base is reminiscent of a market day, with various food and beverage stalls, as well as local craft vendors, enriching the experience and fostering community engagement.
