About this course
The Goat Adventure Run traverses the diverse landscapes of Tongariro National Park, offering a challenging experience with significant elevation gain. The course features a variety of terrain, including ancient lava flows, scoria fields, and lush mountain beech forests, providing participants with captivating views throughout the run.
For younger participants, ‘The Kid’ course offers a 3.2km off-road trail that weaves through the Mangawhero Forest, ensuring a fun and engaging experience for ages 5 to 16. In 2027, ‘The Big Kid’ course returns, designed for those aged 11 to 16 who seek a greater challenge.
The event is supported by community involvement and the Ohakune Events Charitable Trust, fostering a sense of camaraderie among runners and spectators alike. The combination of breathtaking scenery and the spirit of participation contributes to the unique atmosphere of this well-regarded running event.
