The Goat Adventure Run

The Goat Adventure Run takes place in the scenic Tongariro National Park, providing a challenging experience as runners navigate the Round the Mountain track from Whakapapa to Turoa Ski Fields. The course features over 1000 meters of vertical ascent across diverse terrains, including ancient lava flows, scoria fields, and mountain beech forests, which contribute to its reputation as one of New Zealand’s notable off-road running events.

For younger participants, ‘The Kid’ course offers a 3.2km loop through Mangawhero Forest in Ohakune, designed for ages 5 to 16. In 2027, ‘The Big Kid’ course returns, catering to 11 to 16-year-olds seeking a greater challenge, though details on the distance are yet to be confirmed.
