The Goat Adventure Run

The Goat Adventure Run is scheduled for 18 January 2025, set within the scenic Tongariro National Park. The event features a challenging course that traverses the Round the Mountain track, connecting Whakapapa and Turoa Ski Fields. This route includes over 1000 meters of vertical ascent, offering participants a diverse array of terrain, including ancient lava flows, mountain beech forests, tussock grasslands, and alpine herb fields. The course also provides views of cascading waterfalls, an alpine lake, and boulder-strewn rivers, making it a visually captivating experience.

In addition to the main event, ‘The Kid’ course caters to younger participants aged 5 to 16 years, featuring a 3.2-kilometer off-road trail that winds through the Mangawhero Forest in Ohakune. This looped track allows children to engage with nature while enjoying a safe and accessible running environment.

The Goat Adventure Run is recognized as one of New Zealand’s premier off-road running events, attracting a dedicated participant base and showcasing the unique natural beauty of the region. Post-race activities and amenities are typically available for participants and spectators alike.
