Wairua Warrior

The Wairua Warrior event takes place at New Zealand’s only permanent purpose-built obstacle course in the Nelson-Tasman region. This unique venue provides a scenic backdrop for participants as they navigate a variety of challenging obstacles designed to test their physical and mental strength.

Offering courses that accommodate a range of abilities, participants can choose from 3km, 5km, and 10km options. Individuals have the flexibility to compete solo or as part of a team consisting of 4 to 8 members, with the opportunity for teams to include diverse age groups and genders. In 2026, an elite level will also be introduced, catering to those looking for a heightened competitive experience.

For younger participants aged 6 to under 14 years, a 2.5km race is available, allowing them to engage in the spirit of the event while enjoying age-appropriate challenges. The atmosphere is often vibrant, with community involvement enhancing the overall experience for both participants and spectators.
