• The Ben Lomond Vertical Kilometre features a challenging ascent, climbing to the summit of Ben Lomond. This race is unique as New Zealand’s only certified Vertical Kilometre.
• The race begins near the historic Ben Lomond Woolshed, close to scenic Moke Lake, and proceeds directly up to the summit. The terrain is entirely off-track, necessitating strong balance, footwork, and strength. Participants are allowed to use poles to aid their ascent.
• Given the uphill-only nature of the course, runners are required to descend from the summit after completing the race. Specific details on the official descent route will be provided before the race day.
