About this course
The event features a range of distances, including a full marathon, half marathon, 10km, and 5km.
The marathon course is particularly noted for its scenic route, beginning at Portobello Recreation Reserve and winding around the picturesque Otago Harbour, concluding outside Emerson’s Brewery. This stretch offers participants a chance to take in stunning waterfront views, making it a visually rewarding experience.
All other distances commence from the Caledonian Ground track, with the finish line shared by all events at the brewery, creating a unified and celebratory atmosphere.
Established in 1979, the event has a long-standing tradition and is organized by the Caversham Harrier and Athletic Club, reflecting strong community involvement and support. The marathon course is AIMS certified, allowing participants to use their completion times for qualification in international races, including the Boston Marathon.
