The race
The Harcourts Cooper & Co Run the Point event offers a scenic course that uniquely integrates Hobsonville Point’s characteristic urban trail setting. Participants experience a mix of hard-packed trails, boardwalks, and concrete utility paths, with limited stretches on roadways, which are closed to traffic for the event. This assures a safe and uninterrupted running experience. The course is primarily flat, making it accessible for runners and walkers of varying abilities.
The event includes a special 2km Kids Dash, designed as a fun and energetic route, taking younger participants up and down De Haviland Rd and culminating in an exciting sprint to the finish line. This race not only encourages family participation but also adds a vibrant, youthful atmosphere to the day.
Each participant who completes their race receives a unique medal, adding a collectible aspect to the event. Those who participate in all four races of the North Shore Run Series have the opportunity to collect a series of color-coordinated medals, creating an additional element of challenge and reward for frequent runners.
Overall, Run the Point fosters a community-focused environment, with routes designed to showcase the local landscape while accommodating a broad range of participants.
