The IRONMĀORI Quarter offers a triathlon that can be tackled either solo or as part of a relay team, with each team member taking on one of the three disciplines: swimming, biking, or running. This event provides a unique opportunity for participants to engage in a cultural and community-focused experience in the scenic setting of Napier.
The course features a 1K swim, a 50K bike ride, and a 10.5K run, with the option for participants to enter just one of these disciplines if they prefer not to complete the full triathlon. The swimming segment takes place in a single lap format, while the running portion consists of three laps, allowing spectators multiple opportunities to cheer on the athletes.
This event is part of the larger IRONMĀORI series, known for promoting health and fitness within the Māori community as well as among New Zealanders from all backgrounds. The atmosphere is inclusive and celebratory, with a focus on participation and personal achievement, making it a distinctive feature in the national sporting calendar.
