• The Old Ghost Ultra Marathon takes place on The Old Ghost Rd, renowned as New Zealand’s longest continuous single-track. This scenic route is situated near Westport on the West Coast of the South Island.
• Runners will navigate a challenging course featuring over 2600 metres of cumulative elevation gain.
• Participants are allocated a maximum of 17 hours to complete the course, although the fastest runners are anticipated to finish in approximately 8 to 9 hours.
• This event is organized by the Mokihinui-Lyell Backcountry Trust, a community group responsible for constructing The Old Ghost Road. This non-profit initiative emphasizes the conservation and enjoyment of this unique backcountry area.
