Wanaka, Wanaka Watersports Facility
The race
The TriWanaka Swim Run Series features a sequence of six aquathon events set against the backdrop of the Wanaka Watersports Facility. The series culminates with a final race in February, drawing participants from various backgrounds.
The courses cater to a wide range of ages and abilities, with distinct options for adults, youth aged 16 and above, and children under 12. Younger participants can engage in a short splash and dash event, while older competitors can choose from short, medium, and long course formats that combine swimming and running.
The scenic lake setting provides a picturesque environment, and the community atmosphere is enhanced by local involvement and support. Participants are encouraged to prepare with appropriate gear, such as wetsuits and running shoes, and to bring along a picnic rug for post-race relaxation, fostering a sense of camaraderie among competitors and spectators alike.
