The Early Bird Run Crew was born from a passion to improve mental and physical health. As a community-led movement, we strive to be welcoming, positive and empowering. We want to unite local communities across New Zealand to be happier and healthier. Come run with us!

We meet at the bus stop (see above), and run the Hobsonville 5K loop or another local route.
You don’t need to come along every time. The idea is that whenever you do decide to run, you know there’ll be others there doing the same. Before we run we take a group photo so that absent Crew members know what they’re missing! Everyone sets off together, but people run at their own pace – how you feel on the day determines your gas pedal. Invariably, that means splitting into similarly-paced groups and chatting while we run, but no worries if you prefer to go solo!
𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴?
No.

The ethos behind the crews is that they are more social than competitive, so don’t be put off if you’re new to running. That said, if you’re a keen runner looking to improve, you’ll find like-minded people to share training tips with and help push you on.

The mental health benefits of running and human connection are undeniable, that’s why we’re proud to support the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand. This connection is very light touch – people don’t show up to be counselled… although there’s no better therapy than a run and a chat!
