Barefoot XTRAIL Series: Towai Traverse

The annual Barefoot XTRAIL Series Towai Traverse, set to be held in Wainuiomata on 8 June 2025, is a winter off-road trail run. This event is characterized by its lush bush surroundings, towering peaks, and panoramic views. Runners can experience excellent running conditions amidst some of Wellington’s finest bushland.

The race sequence comprises short, medium, and long courses. The short courses range approximately from 5km to 7km, the medium courses between 10km to 14km, and the long courses can go from 17km to possibly over 20km. The Barefoot Sport organizes the event.

The Barefoot XTRAIL Series is an ongoing series of races. The next race in the series after the Towai Traverse will occur on 21 June 2025, and the previous one took place on 18 May 2025.

The race distances are approximations, with the short race around 7K, the medium race around 14K, and the long race approximately 21K.
