The Nexans Fun Run/Walk Series event in Inglewood features a course that primarily traverses off-road terrain, starting from TOPEC. Participants have the option of a flat 5km route, suitable for those preferring a less challenging course, or a more demanding 5km Lake Challenge that includes an ascent to Lake Mangamahoe and returns to the start. Additionally, a 9.5km route combines elements of both 5km courses, offering a comprehensive experience of the terrain.
This event is designed to accommodate participants of all ages and fitness levels, promoting a family-friendly atmosphere where individuals can choose to walk, run, or simply enjoy a leisurely pace. The series emphasizes the scenic beauty of the Taranaki region, making it a pleasant recreational opportunity for both locals and visitors.
Cultural sensitivity towards environmental sustainability is marked by the event’s policy of being cup-free; participants are encouraged to bring their own cups or water bottles to minimize waste.
The Inglewood race is part of a larger series, with other races scheduled in the New Plymouth area, fostering community involvement and continuity among participants. Each event in the series offers multiple distance options, ranging from 2km to 16km, catering to a diverse range of preferences and abilities.
