
The Waimea Harriers Sprig & Fern 10km fun run/walk in Motueka concludes a series of four 10km events in the Nelson region. This event is designed to accommodate participants of all abilities, promoting community involvement and physical activity.
The course features a mix of scenic routes typical of the Motueka area, allowing participants to enjoy the natural beauty while engaging in the run or walk. The atmosphere is welcoming, with a focus on inclusivity, as participants can register individually or as part of a team, completing a 5km segment each.
Logistics are straightforward, with registration opening at 1:20pm and closing at 2pm. The event has staggered start times to manage the flow of participants, beginning with casual walkers and early runners at 1:45pm, followed by speed walkers and early runners at 2:15pm, and the main running group at 2:30pm.
In addition to the entry fee, which is modest, there are no costs for school children and youth students, as well as for members of Waimea Harriers and Athletics Nelson. This consideration helps to foster youth participation and engagement in local running activities.
