The course for this event features a scenic out-and-back loop along the Great Lake Pathway, also known as Lions Walk, which extends to 2 Mile Bay. This pathway is known for its picturesque views along the lakeside, providing participants a refreshing and visually appealing route. The race begins and concludes at Wharewaka Point, a popular spot that offers ample space for gathering and post-race activities.
In addition to the main 5K, there is a shorter race designed specifically for children. This 1.5K kids’ race consists of two laps around Wharewaka Point, allowing for a safe and manageable course for younger participants.
