The race
About this course
The event features a mixed terrain course set in the Waitakere Ranges, known for its diverse landscapes and scenic beauty. Starting from the Beveridge Track near the Arataki Visitor Centre, participants navigate well-formed yet undulating trails, roads, and 4WD tracks, all within a stunning regenerated rainforest environment.
The 2026 iteration includes new out-and-back sections along Pipeline Road, enhancing the overall experience for participants. Both the 8.5km and 17km courses share the same route, with those in the longer distance completing two laps. The event encourages participation by walkers in the shorter distance, promoting inclusivity.
With limited entries available, the atmosphere tends to be vibrant yet intimate, fostering community involvement and engagement among participants and local supporters.
