The Spectacle

The Spectacle Running Festival is set to take place from December 13 to 15, 2024, in Whakatu-Nelson. This inaugural event features a diverse range of trail running and road racing options catering to various skill levels.

The trail events highlight the region’s natural beauty, with courses designed to showcase the terrain and scenery of Nelson. Participants can expect a variety of challenging trail routes, with specific details on distances to be confirmed.

On the road racing side, the event will take place in the central business district of Nelson, utilizing closed-road routes for a safe racing experience. A notable feature of the festival is the elite road mile event on Saturday evening, which will feature an invitational lineup of Olympic athletes, marking it as New Zealand’s richest road mile.
