True West Adventure Race

The True West Adventure Race 2027 presents a unique challenge set in New Zealand’s rugged and remote landscapes, primarily on the West Coast. The exact location will be confirmed closer to the event date.

This non-stop team event requires participants to navigate through challenging wilderness using only a map and compass. Teamwork is essential, as teams must finish the course intact to be ranked. Competitors must demonstrate high fitness levels, outdoor skills, and the ability to work collaboratively under pressure.

The race features varying durations, including 3, 6, 24, and 48-hour events, incorporating disciplines such as rafting, mountain biking, and hiking.

In addition to the main event, the Schools Adventure Race offers three categories tailored to different skill levels: Junior for Years 7 & 8 (3-4 hours), Intermediate for Years 9 & 10 (4-6 hours), and Senior for Years 11-13 (6-8 hours). Teams can consist of 2 to 4 members, with options for male, female, or mixed groups.

This event fosters community involvement and encourages participants to engage with the natural environment, highlighting the spirit of adventure and teamwork inherent in outdoor sports.
