Teams of 2-4 participants navigate through a diverse landscape, which encompasses native bush, streams, farmland trails, and forestry. A significant aspect of the race involves reaching designated checkpoints using a provided map and compass, as GPS devices are not permitted.
The event caters to a range of participants, with a 3-hour option aimed at families and beginners, while the 6-hour format is suitable for those with some navigation experience, requiring participants to jog or walk off-road for approximately 10km and mountain bike for around 25km, with longer distances possible for those opting to tackle additional checkpoints.
Course details are kept confidential until race day, with maps distributed prior to the start, allowing teams to devise their strategies and route choices effectively. The event fosters a sense of community and adventure, encouraging participants of varying skill levels to engage with the natural environment and each other.
