The race

The swim leg takes place in the Baywave Aquatic Centre’s indoor pool, providing a controlled setting for young swimmers. Transitioning to the bike segment, participants navigate the streets around Arataki Park, which are typically closed to traffic during the event, ensuring safety and a smooth experience. The run portion is set within the picturesque surroundings of Arataki Park, offering a scenic backdrop for competitors.
For younger participants, a ‘Splash n Dash’ aquathon is available, specifically tailored for 6-year-olds. This aspect of the event introduces them to the excitement of multi-sport participation in a manageable format.
The atmosphere is lively, with community involvement evident through local support and encouragement, creating a festive and motivating environment for the young athletes and their families.
