The Nugget MultiSport Festival

The Nugget MultiSport Festival is scheduled for 10 May 2025, taking place in Waihi, located in the southern Coromandel region. This event features a variety of multisport activities, including a full multisport race, duathlon, and trail running/walking options.

The Full Nugget Multisport race offers participants a diverse course that begins in Waihi’s town center and extends to the northern Tauranga Harbour and Waihi Beach. Competitors traverse scenic coastal trails, lush farmland, and culminate at the historic Martha Gold Mine, finishing under the prominent Cornish Pumphouse. The Half Nugget Duathlon consists of a combination of trail running and mountain biking.

Participants can enter the Full and Half Nugget events as individuals or teams, with a requirement that all team members complete a final 400-meter run together. The festival includes various trail run/walk distances, catering to different skill levels. Post-race amenities typically enhance the experience, contributing to the event’s community atmosphere.
