Wainuiomata Hill Run

The Mitre 10 Mega Wainuiomata Hill Run is set to take place on 13 September 2025. This annual event allows participants to ascend Wainuiomata Hill, reaching a peak of 195m above sea level.

The race sets off from the heart of Wainuiomata, with one course leading runners up the hill to the lookout point and back. A more challenging course takes participants over the hill and back. Participants can choose to run or walk, independently or in groups, amidst the stunning backdrop of the native bush.

In addition to the main race, there is a unique aspect of the event that welcomes families for a dedicated course. This course, termed the Buggy Half Hill, accommodates prams, front packs, and trikes. Furthermore, there is a separate event designed specifically for children aged 5 to 10 years, consisting of a flat dash.

The 2025 iteration of this event is committed to supporting the Kokiri Marae Pātaka Kai.
