Jumbo Holdsworth & Hooper Loop Trail Races

The Jumbo Holdsworth Trail Race and Hooper Loop will take place on 25 January 2025, set in the scenic Tararua Forest Park. This event features two distinct trail courses, the Jumbo-Mt Holdsworth Circuit and the Holdsworth-Jumbo Circuit, allowing participants to choose their preferred direction. The courses are designed for competitors with a solid background in mountain and trail running, with a specific anti-clockwise direction designated for those aiming for podium positions in the Jumbo to Holdsworth segment.

The 12 km Hooper Loop offers a varied experience, predominantly traversing bushland with graded tracks. Participants will encounter a moderately steep hill climb in the middle section, making it suitable for a range of skill levels, from novices to experienced runners. The natural beauty of the Tararua Forest Park, characterized by its lush greenery and rugged terrain, enhances the overall running experience. Post-race amenities and activities will be available to participants, contributing to the event’s communal atmosphere.
