The race
The Wairarapa Multisports Club’s Biathlon Series takes place on Thursdays during the spring and summer months, coinciding with daylight savings time.
Participants can select from various Biathlon distances, with options for both mountain biking and road cycling. The run legs utilize a consistent course, featuring a 2.5 km route where runners complete a turnaround at a designated cone. Individuals can enter solo or as part of a two-person relay team. Additionally, there are separate options for run/walk and bike-only participants.
The event embraces all skill levels, with staggered start times designed to ensure that faster participants set off last, allowing slower runners, walkers, and cyclists to enjoy the course without feeling pressured.
The start and finish area is conveniently located at the Henley Lake Mens Shed car park, easily accessible from Colombo Road in Masterton. The transition from biking to running occurs at the same venue, streamlining logistics for participants. The atmosphere is community-focused, encouraging involvement from a broad spectrum of abilities.
