WMSC Biathlon Spring & Summer Series 9

The Wairarapa Multisports Club’s Biathlon Series takes place on Thursday evenings during daylight savings, offering a variety of multisport options that combine biking and running. Participants can choose between mountain biking and road cycling, with the running segment on a well-marked course. Runners completing the shorter distance will turn around at a designated cone, ensuring clear navigation.

This series accommodates different skill levels, allowing individuals to compete solo or as part of a two-person relay team. Additionally, there are options for those who prefer to participate in run/walk events or bike-only categories, making it accessible to a broader audience.

A unique aspect of the event is the staggered start times, which allows the fastest competitors to begin last, thus ensuring that slower participants are not left feeling isolated on the course. The start and finish area is located at Henley Lake Mens Shed car park, with the transition area conveniently situated nearby, facilitating a smooth experience for all participants.

The atmosphere fosters community involvement, encouraging both seasoned athletes and newcomers to engage in a supportive environment.
