Wellington Waterfront 5K: December

The Wellington Waterfront 5K Fun Run & Walk features a scenic course that takes participants alongside notable city landmarks and vibrant ocean views. Starting on the east side of the link span bridge/diving platform, the route passes the iconic Te Papa Museum, continues past the marina, wraps around Clyde Quay Wharf, and extends to Oriental Bay. The turnaround point is just past Carlton Gore Road, with runners retracing their steps back to the start.

The course is well-marshaled, ensuring safety and guidance at key points including the Clyde Quay wharf turn and the northern traffic turnaround at Clyde Quay Wharf. The atmosphere is typically lively, reflective of both the communal spirit and the picturesque, bustling setting of Wellington’s waterfront. This event, organized by the Wellington Scottish Athletics Club, is part of the broader Wellington Waterfront 5K Series, which takes place on Tuesday evenings from October to March, fostering a regular community gathering of running enthusiasts.
