The Wellington Waterfront 5K Fun Run & Walk features a picturesque course that takes participants along the scenic waterfront of New Zealand’s capital. The route begins on the east side of the link span bridge/diving platform and winds past significant city landmarks such as Te Papa Museum. It continues along the waterfront, crossing the bridge near the marina and circling around Clyde Quay Wharf before stretching out to Oriental Bay. Participants then turn around just past Carlton Gore Road to head back to the starting point.
This course is well-marshaled, ensuring safety and direction at key points such as the Clyde Quay Wharf turn and the turnaround at the north end of Clyde Quay Wharf. The event, organized by the Wellington Scottish Athletics Club, is part of a larger series that spans several months, fostering a community atmosphere and encouraging regular participation from local runners and walkers. The setting sun during the race adds a tranquil backdrop to this evening event, enhancing the experience for participants.
