WMSC Biathlon Spring & Summer Series 11

The Wairarapa Multisports Club’s Biathlon Series takes place on Thursdays during the spring and summer months, coinciding with daylight savings time. This series features a variety of Biathlon events that combine biking and running, offering participants the choice of mountain biking or road cycling.

The running component utilizes a straightforward course where participants in the shorter distance turn around at a designated cone, ensuring clear navigation. Options are available for both individual competitors and two-person relay teams, accommodating different preferences and team dynamics.

In addition to the biathlon events, there are dedicated run/walk and bike-only categories, making the series accessible to a wide range of abilities. The staggered start times are designed to promote an inclusive atmosphere, allowing slower participants to enjoy the course without feeling left behind.

The start and finish areas are conveniently located at the Henley Lake Mens Shed car park, with the transition from biking to running occurring in the same vicinity. This logistical setup supports a smooth flow for participants as they navigate between the different segments of the event.
