WMSC Biathlon Spring & Summer Series 4

The Biathlon Series organized by the Wairarapa Multisports Club offers a blend of biking and running events that take place on Thursday evenings during daylight saving time in spring and summer. Participants can select from various biathlon options that combine cycling (both mountain bike and road bike) with running.

The running segments are set on a designated course where shorter distances feature a cone turnaround at the halfway point to facilitate easy navigation. There are options for individual competitors as well as two-person relay teams, allowing for a variety of participation styles. Additionally, the event includes run/walk and bike-only categories, catering to different preferences and abilities.

To promote inclusivity, start times are staggered, with faster participants departing last, ensuring that those who are slower are not left behind on the course. The event begins and concludes at the Henley Lake Mens Shed car park, conveniently located off Colombo Road in Masterton, where the transition area for switching from bike to run is also situated.

The atmosphere is friendly and community-oriented, encouraging participation from all skill levels, fostering a sense of camaraderie among competitors.
