WMSC Biathlon Spring & Summer Series 6

The Wairarapa Multisports Club’s Biathlon Series takes place on Thursdays during the daylight saving months of spring and summer. This series features a variety of Biathlon formats, incorporating both mountain biking and road cycling options alongside running segments.

The running course is consistent across events, with participants completing a turnaround at a designated cone for shorter distances. The event caters to diverse participation preferences, allowing individuals to compete solo or as part of a two-person relay team. Additionally, there are options for those who prefer a run/walk format or bike-only participation.

Inclusivity is a key aspect of the series, as participants of all abilities are encouraged to join. To enhance the experience for all, start times are staggered, ensuring that faster entrants begin last, which allows slower participants to enjoy the course without the pressure of being last.

The event begins and concludes at the Henley Lake Mens Shed car park on Colombo Road, Masterton, which also serves as the transition area for switching from biking to running. The supportive community atmosphere is emphasized throughout the series, fostering a sense of camaraderie among participants.
